BJP Leader Dilip Ghosh Marries Party Colleague Rinku Majumdar; Party Says It’s a Personal Matter
Senior BJP leader and former West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh recently tied the knot with party colleague Rinku Majumdar, a move that sparked curiosity and conversation in political circles. Reacting to the news, BJP leader Rahul Sinha dismissed public interest in the matter, calling it a purely personal decision.
“This is his personal matter. There’s no reason for others to take so much of a headache,” Sinha said, quoting the popular phrase, “Jab miya-biwi raazi to kya karega qazi?” He further added, “So what if he is older? Many people of his age get married.”
Ghosh, 60, confirmed the marriage on Friday after completing the wedding rituals. He thanked well-wishers for their blessings and clarified that his personal life would not interfere with his political responsibilities. He also revealed that the marriage fulfilled a long-held wish of his mother.
The wedding was a low-key affair, with only a few attendees. Many close family members were reportedly not present, as the ceremony was kept private. West Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar visited the couple to extend his congratulations, while Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sent flowers and a message of good wishes.
Who is Rinku Majumdar?
According to India Today, Rinku Majumdar is a BJP leader who has served in several key roles, including in the party’s Mahila Morcha, OBC front, and handloom cell. As per PTI, she was previously married and has a son working in an IT firm in Salt Lake, Kolkata.
Speculation around her relationship with Dilip Ghosh grew after the two were seen at Eden Gardens on April 3, the same day Ghosh attended an IPL match.

In a tongue-in-cheek comment, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said their relationship, which reportedly began during morning walks at Eco Park, had an indirect connection to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who developed the park. “So, her role in this union is undeniable,” he quipped in a post on X.
